Bristol Pre-Race Report
JASON KELLER/ CJM RACING TEAM - FAST FACTS:
- CJM Racing will make a second appearance in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS). The team visited the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” last fall and finished 24th
- America’s Incredible Pizza Company (AIPC) will serve as the primary sponsor for this weekend’s Sharpie Mini 300
- This will be the third week in a row that AIPC will be displayed on the No. 11 entry. The team is currently in business-to-business negotiations to continue the relationship in 2008
- Keller tied the team’s highest finish of 14th last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The stand-alone team now has two top-15 finishes in just four races
- Keller has 28 starts at Bristol Motor Speedway and is set to break the career start record at BMS held by former driver Tommy Houston. The Keller and Houston tie-in is familiar territory as Keller beat Houston’s all-time career start record (417) back in the fall of 2007
- April 10, 1999 marks the last time a driver has won the Spring Bristol race from the pole. That driver would be Jason Keller
- The impressive stats continue; Keller has three Poles, 12 top-10 finishes and averages a 15th place finish at BMS
- The America’s Incredible Pizza Company Racing Team will be running chassis #04 at Bristol; #04 is the same chassis the team garnered a top-10 finish at Dover Int’l Speedway in the fall (8th place)
- The Sharpie Mini 300 will be broadcast live on ABC Saturday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m. (EST)
KELLER’S THOUGHTS ON LAST WEEKEND AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY:
“Last weekend was a rough week for me personally. I was still battling bronchitis
and then that cold weather moved in which didn’t help. Once I got behind the
wheel and started racing my mind moved away from everything else and we
focused on getting the car handling right to run up front. Todd (crew chief) did every adjustment possible during the race to help with the handling problems. The adjustments helped settle the car down and we were able to post another top-15 finish.”
KELLER’S THOUGHTS ON BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY:
“I have always loved going to Bristol. It’s one of my favorite tracks. The racing is strenuous but it’s exciting with non-stop action throughout the entire race. I’ve had some good luck there and looking forward to building on that success. It also helps us as a team because we have been here once before so we have a sort of comfort level heading into the weekend.”
