Scott Lagasse Jr. Quick Facts:

  • Scott Lagasse Jr. will run his first full season with CJM Racing this year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and compete for Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year honors
  • Lagasse Jr. was poised for a top-15 finish at Dover International Speedway when a late race bump sent the No. 11 Toyota Camry into the wall with 40 laps remaining. The team settled for a 27th place finish
  • Lagasse Jr. currently sits 13th in the driver point standings; 100 points out of 10th
  • In his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Nashville Superspeedway in April, Lagasse Jr. posted a 10th place finish and was credited as the highest finishing  Raybestos rookie of the race
  • Lagasse Jr. has also made appearances at Nashville Superspeedway in the ARCA Re/Max Series. In 2006 he finished sixth and then followed that up with a fourth place finish in 2007
  • Lagasse Jr. and fellow rookie of the year contender, Brendan Gaughan, are heading to Nashville a few days early to spend some time with the media and tour Stoney Creek Records on Music Row. The two drivers will have a “behind the scenes” look at the record label and studio. Country music artist Megan Mullins and producer Buddy Cannon will be on site also
  • The NASCAR Nationwide Series has created a tornado relief fund challenge and will be putting on an autograph session at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend. Lagasse Jr. will participate in the autograph session on Saturday, June 6th from noon – 1:00 pm at the Nationwide display area at the track. CJM Racing Quick Facts:

  • The 2009 season marks the second season CJM Racing will compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series full-time. The team currently sits 17th in the owner point standings after 12 races this season
  • CJM Racing transitioned over to Toyota Camry’s during the off-season. The team will bring chassis # 001 to Nashville. # 001 is the same chassis the team ran at Nashville in April and finished 10th
  • The alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing continues in 2009. The partnership formed late last year will allow the teams to share technical information as well as research and development
  • E-Pak Manufacturing and Jason Aldean’s “Wide Open” album with be displayed as associate sponsors on the No. 11 America’s Incredible Pizza Company Toyota Camry this weekend
  • CJM Racing has four starts at Nashville Superspeedway and has garnered two top-10 finishes with an average finishing position of 12th
  • Easter morning Herman Patton was driving to church when he noticed a car stopped on the wrong side of the bridge. He quickly pulled over and realized how severe the situation was. Cynthia Price was in labor and losing blood fast. Patton quickly called 911 and just 30 minutes later, Malik Isaiah was born at a nearby hospital. If not for Patton, Price could have bled to death. He will be honored as this week’s Incredible Hero at Nashville

Driver Scott Lagasse Jr. on Nashville:

“I’m ready to go back to Nashville and hopefully get things turned around. We’ve had a stretch of bad luck lately and I hate to see it for this team. We’re bringing the same car as earlier this year and I know we’re capable of a top-10 finish. It’s to the point in the season where you need to start gaining ground on the points situation and not fall behind so we’ve got some work to do.”
