“Incredible Hero” Holly Brown Rescued a Women
from a Burning Building

Mooresville, NC (June 9, 2009) – Holly Brown’s quick thinking and cool-headed reaction possibly saved a life during a random encounter along her bus route. Brown is a special needs bus driver for the Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) system in Louisville, KY. During a house fire, Brown rescued a woman, who coincidentally is the mother of another JCPS bus driver.

On January 6, 2009 Brown was picking up a student when she noticed flames coming out of the house next door. An assistant was present with her at the time so she quickly darted off the bus and kicked down the door of the burning building. Inside she found a woman who she grabbed and placed her safely away from the fire. The woman was alert and emotionally distraught over her dog still being trapped in the house. Brown reentered the house to see if she could locate the little white dog, which she did and the dog was reunited with her owner.

While 911 was on their way, Brown asked the women if she could call someone for her. Little did she know that the woman she had just rescued was the mother of a fellow co-worker. Brown’s supervisor quickly located the son and he met his mother at the hospital.

Thanks to Brown’s selfless act of heroism, the women survived the fire with only minor injuries.

For her heroic act, Holly Brown will be recognized as this week’s Incredible Hero at Kentucky Speedway.

The Incredible Heroes are extended an invite to attend the NASCAR Nationwide Series race as guests of CJM Racing and the America’s Incredible Pizza Company. Each hero receives a plaque in recognition of their heroism and they spend a VIP day at the race track.

The Incredible Heroes campaign will run throughout the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. If you know of an Incredible Hero and would like to nominate him or her please email: heroes@incrediblepizza.com for consideration or check out www.incrediblepizza.com/contests/incredibleheroes.
